Pat Howlett: [Research and Strategy] -After years of thinking that there had to be a better way to design and deploy local websites, Pat decided to spend a year testing new ideas (yes, he has ideas) and put together the strategies, resources and tactics that GET RESULTS!
He’s “kinda” pleased with the outcome and has put together a team of professionals to finally provide local business owners what they need to be successful and to compete and WIN against the large companies trying to “look local”. Local Business is our space. Let’s take it back!
Drew Hill: [Website Development and Creative] – Drew is the Button Pusher, responsible for coding our products. When he’s not pushing buttons, he enjoys daydreaming about product development and participating in extreme sports. While growing up on the Gulf Coast of Florida, he enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together just to see how they worked.
After being transplanted to Raleigh, NC, he served his local community as an Eagle Scout, dropped out of college to start a website design and development company, and taught internet marketing classes to the local entrepreneurial community. Andrew leads our surfing club and is a faithful member of our auto enthusiasts ‘club.
Lindsay Graham: [Sales] -Largely due to (and in spite of) Lindsay’s petite size, her interest in becoming a Gorilla and helping others do the same in their market was so monumental that she replaced herself at her day job. She did it just so she could focus more of her energy on helping great businesses GROW.
The appeal of having a “Gorilla-sized” affect on the market with its unique and amazing niche established by the BeTheGorilla team appeases Lindsay’s inferiority complex, and it reminds her that size is only determined by the eyes of search engines.
Bob Walton:[Google Places & Local Directories] – God only made so many perfect heads. The rest he covered with hair. Bob was a career-conflicted guy; a mapmaker, an engineer, a realtor and web developer until he learned to put the pieces together (using technology to “locate” & promote local business listings online). Gratified with his discovery, Bob is no longer “pulling out his hair”.
A soloprenuer for many years, Bob has the heart to help and serve the local business community by getting their respective messages out via the internet. He believes it should be the real local “Joe” appearing in area search results rather than national directories masquerading as the “little” guy. Though he couldn’t quite put a finger on the attraction, the lure of the HAIRY Gorilla Team was one that Bob just could not pass up.
Jim Vogel: [Content Creation] -A native Detroiter, Jim believes that identity, message, and understanding are key ingredients to putting some hair on the chest of your Gorilla! From accountants to zoologists, everyone has a story to tell.
Writing content for businesses and making them better are passions he wants to improve on every day. But we like him because he can actually spell better than anyone on the BtG Team.
